You can use either a command-line client or a GUI-based client. Generally speaking, GUI-based clients are much easier to use.
Here’s how you do it using AnyClient, a GUI-based file transfer client that supports FTP/S, SFTP, WebDAV/S, Amazon S3, and AFTP.
Enter your FTP server’s hostname or IP address, your username on the server, and that username’s corresponding password.
Select FTP for the protocol.
Click Connect.
Once you’ve successfully connected, you’ll then be shown two panels. The left panel represents your local file system, while the remote panel represents the FTP server’s file system.
Select the file or files you want to upload from the left panel and then click the Upload button as shown below. That’s it!

To transfer files via FTP using your web browser in Windows:
1. From the File menu, choose Open Location.
2. You will be prompted for your password.
3. To download a file, drag the file from the browser window to the desktop.
4. To upload a file, drag the file from your hard drive to the browser window.

I use Filezilla, which is popular, certainly not the best but I like it. WinFTP seems to be a good alternative. Both are user friendly.

Instead, you also simply can type the ftp address on any window of your Windows.

address.ext. will work, it will ask you your credentials and will open it as a regular folder.
