Every producer of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) has an extended producer responsibility (EPR) for channeling e-waste to an approved dismantler/recycler to ensure environmentally sound waste management.
All manufacturers of EEE covered by E-Waste, including importers, e-retailers/online sellers/e-bay, and others, must get an EPR authorization. A manufacturer can implement its EPR by setting up a take-back system, collection centers, or both to direct e-waste and end-of-life items to authorized dismantlers/recyclers.
