Title: Are Academic Editing Services a Useful Aid or a Shortcut We're Leaning On Too Much?

I've been noticing a growing number of students turning to different types of academic support, and one that seems to be gaining traction is the academic editing service. It’s often recommended for polishing assignments, improving language, or making sure everything meets the required standards before submission.
But I keep wondering are these services just helping us present our ideas more clearly, or are they starting to influence how we actually write and think? If someone is fixing your structure, refining your arguments, or rephrasing your conclusions, at what point does it stop being fully your work?
At the same time, I get why students use them. When English isn’t your first language, or you're working on something as demanding as a dissertation, having a professional look it over can feel like a huge relief. And if the academic editing service only corrects grammar and flow without changing the ideas, is that really a problem?
