Who would require a dedicated IP address?

Dedicated IP means the IP address is assigned to a single website. The shared IP address is a single IP address that is used for all the sites on a single server.

Benefits of dedicated IP:

 • Those who have a website that drives the large volume of traffic require a dedicated IP. It can help to maintain and increase website loading speed and eliminate any changes that site crashes anytime due to heavy traffic.
 • If your website running through a shared IP address, then there's a chance you could face issues with your email. Dedicated IP will isolate your website and associated email from any other site and protect both your email and website's reputation.
 • For an eCommerce website, where customers make purchases using their credit cards, you have to install an SSL certificate. You would need dedicated IP if you were to get a security certificate.
 • Google gives more importance to sites with dedicated IP addresses. If you compare with shared IP, your dedicated IP is more likely to achieve better Page-rank.
 • If any website on the same address is blacklisted for spamming activity, it will have a direct impact on your website. So you'll get protection from the actions of other sites with Dedicated IP.

Those websites that contains transactions like E-commerce sites, so to secure that monetary transactions, it is important for them to use a Dedicated IP.
The Websites that have high volume of traffic on the website and to avoid downtime due to high traffic on shared server, Dedicated IP is most useful for them.

Hello folks,

I wanted to know more about dedicated IP address and how it can be beneficial for my website.

For this you have to understand the basic difference between shared and dedicated IP addresses which is quite simple.

Dedicated IP address means that the website has its very own address, and you can use either this IP address or the domain name of your website to access it from the web

On shared hosting plans, a dedicated IP address can be needed for certain users. It's an add-on hosting service that's useful for companies or individuals that have a lot of website traffic or who need daily FTP access to their site.
